Take a break from the daily hustle and create a unique ceramic mug that reminds you to carve out a moment for yourself every day. In this two-part workshop, you’ll craft and decorate your own ‘ME TIME’ mug from scratch, making it truly one of a kind.

No prior experience needed! Whether you’re new to clay or have some experience, I’ll guide you through each step so you can relax, have fun, and enjoy the creative process.

What to Expect

Session 1 – Handbuilding Your Mug

We’ll begin with a warm welcome and an introduction to hand-building techniques. You’ll learn how to shape your mug from clay using different methods and discover ways to personalize it. You can carve a short message into the surface, add texture, or build decorative elements in relief to make it truly special.

After this session, your mug will need time to dry. I will then fire it in my kiln, so it’s ready for the next step.

Session 2 – Glazing & Decorating

Now it’s time to bring your mug to life with color! You’ll have a variety of glazes to choose from—whether you prefer a sleek monochrome look or a playful mix of colors, the choice is yours. I’ll guide you through different glazing techniques to help you create a finish you love.

After glazing, I will fire your mug once more in the kiln. Your finished piece will be food-safe, durable, and ready to use.

Tip: Think about your design in advance, so you can fully enjoy the creative process during the workshop!

Duration

- The first session (shaping the mug) is 2.5 hours. From 10:30h till 13:00h. 
- the second session (glazing the mug)  is 2 hours. From 10:30h till 12:30h. 

After the second firing, your mug will be ready for pickup within three weeks.

• All materials, including 500 grams high-quality clay and glazes
• Use of tools and equipment
• Two kiln firings to ensure your mug is food-safe and long-lasting
• A cozy atmosphere with coffee, tea, and a sweet treat to enjoy while you create

Collection & Shipping

Once your mug has been fired and is ready for use, you can pick it up at my atelier in Weesp. Usually this is within 3 weeks after the second session.

Prefer shipping? No problem! I can send it to you for €10 per package (shipping at your own risk).

Good to Know

• I speak both Dutch and English, so the workshop will be in either language or a fun mix of both, depending on what the group prefers!
• The workshop will be held in my cozy atelier in Weesp (Stationsweg 28-8), right next to the train station. If you're driving, there's plenty of parking for just €1.20 per hour.
  
• Handwashing is always recommended to keep your handmade pieces looking their best. However, ceramics are also dishwasher safe!
