Take a break from the daily hustle and create a unique ceramic mug that serves as a daily reminder to take a moment for yourself. In this workshop, you'll craft your very own ‘ME TIME’ mug from stoneware clay, making it truly one of a kind.

The final color will be a natural off-white or beige—the beautiful, authentic shade of the clay itself! Your piece will be finished with a glossy transparent glaze for a smooth and elegant look.

No prior experience needed! Whether you're completely new to working with clay or have some experience, I’ll guide you through each step so you can relax, have fun, and enjoy the creative process.

What to Expect

We’ll start with a warm welcome and an introduction to hand-building techniques. You’ll learn how to shape your mug from clay using different methods and explore ways to make it uniquely yours. Personalize your piece by carving a short message, adding texture, or creating decorative elements in relief—making your mug truly special.

After the session, your mug will need time to dry before it’s fired. I will first fire it in the kiln at 980°C, then apply a transparent glaze before a second firing at 1220°C. The result? A beautifully finished, food-safe, dishwasher-proof, and durable mug—ready to be enjoyed every day.

Tip: Think about your design in advance, so you can fully enjoy the creative process during the workshop!

Duration

• The workshop lasts 2,5 hours 

• Your finished mug will be ready for pick-up approximately three weeks after the session.

• All materials needed, including 500 grams of high-quality stoneware clay

• Use of tools and equipment to shape and personalize your mug

• Transparent glaze service and two kiln firings to ensure your mug is food-safe, durable, and long-lasting

Collection & Shipping

Once your mug has been fired and is ready for use, you can pick it up at my atelier in Weesp. Usually this is within 3 weeks after the workshop.

Prefer shipping? No problem! I can send it to you for €10 per package (shipping at your own risk).

Good to Know

• I speak both Dutch and English, so the workshop will be in either language or a fun mix of both, depending on what the group prefers!
• The workshop will be held in my cozy atelier in Weesp (Stationsweg 28-8), right next to the train station. If you're driving, there's plenty of parking for just €1.20 per hour.
  
• Handwashing is always recommended to keep your handmade pieces looking their best. However, ceramics are also dishwasher safe!
