Hello, my name is Luna!

My Background

I was born with the genes that make me go: "Oh, this looks cool! Let’s see if I can make this myself!

Born with a DIY spirit, my creative journey began early. Growing up in a creative household, I went to a Waldorf primary school, pursued a passion for nails during high school, and later studied Fashion & Management in Amsterdam.

I ended up working for a (great!) sustainable fashion company, and somehow fell into the world of managing HR & Customer experience.

After spending way too much time glued to my laptop for work, I had an epiphany—I wanted to travel and work with my hands and turn my million creative hobbies into a career.

The start of La Salamandre

In 2021, my boyfriend Kjelld (who is a great chef) and I transformed our own van into a camper/ restaurant and atelier on wheels.

We started our own company called ‘La Salamandre’, where we combined our passions by hosting private dinners with handmade table decor. Creating unforgettable memories all across Europe.

A year later, our journey brought us back to Amsterdam, where Kjelld pursues culinary dreams, and I dive deeper into my creative projects. And so, Atelier La Salamandre was born."

What truly matters

"Both Kjelld and I intentionally left our office jobs to pursue our passion for hands-on work. Drawing from our experiences, we've noticed a widespread societal focus on academic achievements and corporate success. Nevertheless, we firmly believe that choosing to work with your hands is not only a valid and fulfilling option, but is just as valuable as any other choice.

With Atelier La Salamandre, I strive to contribute to a world where individuals have the courage to explore their passions and trust their instincts. I aim to inspire others to break free from conventional norms and lead a life filled with genuine love, transforming passion into a way of life. Additionally, I believe in the positive impact of having a creative outlet. Many people lose their creative inner child along the way, and I aspire to encourage others to revive their creative spark.
